• Nominations are open to the public for all award categories, except the M.A.U.K. Volunteer Awards.
• Nominees may be considered for multiple categories; however, a separate nomination form must be submitted for each category.
• The Girija Nair Volunteer Award is reserved for individuals who have volunteered their time and effort specifically to support M.A.U.K.’s activities, events, or services.
• The awards are designed to celebrate those whose contributions have created a meaningful and lasting benefit for Malayalees and the Malayalee community. This may include:
• Improving quality of life through education, health, or welfare initiatives.
• Promoting and preserving cultural heritage, language, and traditions.
• Advancing opportunities in professional, business, or creative fields.
• Strengthening community bonds through service, leadership, and advocacy.
• Inspiring future generations with acts of resilience, creativity, or innovation.
• Importantly, eligibility is not restricted to Malayalees alone. The awards are open to anyone, regardless of background, whose work has positively impacted Malayalees or the Malayalee community.
• All nominees must clearly demonstrate their impact and alignment with the criteria of the selected award category.
• All nominations must be submitted through the official M.A.U.K. website.
• The online form must include:
• The nominee’s full name and contact details.
• A clear explanation of their contribution or achievement.
• The category you are nominating them for.
• Any relevant background or context.
• Optional supporting materials (e.g. web links, references or brief documents) may also be submitted along with the nomination form.
• Nominations will be reviewed by the M.A.U.K. Awards Committee.
• Final decisions will be approved by the M.A.U.K. Board of Directors.
• Assessment will be based on:
• Impact on the community or wider society
• Relevance to the award category
• Sustained effort, leadership or excellence
• All decisions are final. There is no appeal process.
• Award recipients will be notified before the event.
• Awards will be presented at a major M.A.U.K. function, such as the Onam Celebration.
• Each award includes:
• A certificate
• A custom-designed memento
• A cash award, if sponsorship allows
• Reserved seating for the awardee and one guest
Winners will be featured on the M.A.U.K. Awards website, M.A.U.K. official website, Janani, annual report, print and visual media in the UK and Kerala.
M.A.U.K. reserves the right to withdraw any award if the recipient’s actions, past or future, are found to conflict with M.A.U.K.’s values or bring the organisation or the community into disrepute.
