The MAUK Awards Memento represents the natural evolution of the inaugural MAUK Awards Trophy introduced in 2025.
While the original trophy established the Aranmula Kannadi as the defining symbol of the MAUK Awards, the 2026 memento reimagines that vision into a timeless handcrafted plaque designed to become the enduring identity of the awards for years to come.
Retaining the iconic Aranmula Kannadi at its heart, the new design reflects the continued growth of MAUK and the ever strengthening bond between Kerala and the United Kingdom. Though its form has evolved, the values it represents remain unchanged-honouring excellence, service, leadership and the individuals whose contributions continue to inspire our community.
Inspired by the enduring relationship between Kerala and the United Kingdom, the MAUK Awards Memento has been designed as a visual journey-one that celebrates heritage while embracing progress.
Every element has been purposefully considered, ensuring the memento is not simply an award, but a lasting work of art that tells the story of our community.
At its heart sits the Aranmula Kannadi, from which finely carved sun rays gradually transform into flowing orbital paths. Together, these elements represent how individual achievements create a lasting impact that extends far beyond the recipient, connecting generations, communities and cultures.
A traditional hand-polished metal mirror, symbolising heritage, knowledge, reflection and a brighter future. It projects beyond the plaque, making the award instantly distinctive.
It is believed that those who look into the Aranmula Kannadi are blessed with prosperity, positivity and beauty—not merely of appearance, but of character, purpose and spirit.
Depict leadership, generosity and inspiration. The rays transition into orbital paths, symbolising the positive influence every recipient has on those around them, illuminating lives through achievement and service.
Flowing curves represent journeys, shared experiences and the enduring relationship between Kerala and the United Kingdom. Their intersections celebrate the diversity of the Malayalee diaspora and the connections that strengthen our global community.
Custom shaped to follow the principal orbital path, with the MAUK logo and recipient details laser engraved. It symbolises the present generation, while the carved timber represents the enduring foundations of heritage, culture and community.
Premium brushed brass creates a clean, floating effect for the acrylic panel, adding depth and refinement to the design. Their warm metallic finish complements the gold tones of the Aranmula Kannadi.
More than a functional support, the pinewood base represents the strong foundations upon which our community is built. It honours perseverance, commitment and selfless service, reflecting the lasting impact of contributions and the legacy they leave for future generations.
Retains the Aranmula Kannadi from last year’s trophy, keeping tradition at the heart.
A sophisticated and timeless design suitable for continued use in future years.
Combines traditional artistry with modern design, making it instantly recognisable as the MAUK Award.
Carved rays and orbital paths symbolise the Malayalee community’s global presence and shared future.
A premium, elegant plaque designed to be proudly displayed for years to come.
Designed to become the enduring identity of the MAUK Awards, the MAUK Awards Memento is more than a recognition of achievement-it is a celebration of heritage, excellence and unity. Its evolution from the inaugural trophy reflects the continued growth of MAUK while remaining firmly rooted in the values that have always defined our organisation. Every curve, carving and material has been intentionally chosen to tell a story-from the Aranmula Kannadi, symbolising reflection and authenticity; to the sun rays and orbital paths, representing inspiration, connection and unity; to the floating acrylic panel, signifying the achievements of the present generation; and finally to the integrated pinewood base, representing the steadfast individuals upon whom our community continues to stand. Each recipient becomes part of an ongoing legacy that honours the past, celebrates the present and inspires the future. More than an award, the MAUK Awards Memento is a reflection of who we are a lasting symbol of the people whose dedication continues to strengthen our community, preserve our heritage and deepen the enduring bond between Kerala and the United Kingdom.
